Course Overview
In this 120‑minute Zoom micro‑workshop, you’ll explore how AI brings speed, transparency and intelligence to procurement. We begin by placing AI within the context of global and regional procurement reforms, including Bangladesh’s Tk 316 crore investment in AI‑powered public procurement upgrades and Malaysia’s efforts to combine AI with governance reforms to strengthen oversight. You’ll then learn the foundations of AI—machine learning, NLP and generative models—explained in plain language. We’ll showcase real tools such as ChatGPT/Gemini for drafting tenders and summarising contracts, predictive dashboards for spend analytics, and risk‑scoring algorithms for supplier management. Case studies from Dhaka FMCG firms using AI demand forecasting to avoid stockouts and insights from public‑sector e‑procurement (where machine learning auto‑classifies spending and flags anomalies) ensure relevance to both corporate and government contexts. The session closes with a roadmap to manage ethics, risk and change, helping you implement AI responsibly. Course Objective AI is reshaping procurement, automating routine tasks and revealing insights that were previously hidden. Studies show that up to 50–80% of procurement activities could be automated and that 70% of companies plan to digitize procurement by 2027. Building on Bangladesh’s rapid e‑GP adoption—where more than 80% of public spend now flows through digital platforms—this course helps professionals harness AI to transform sourcing, tendering and contract management.
